Welcome to One Church. These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and One Church United (“we,” “us,” or “our”), the faith-based nonprofit that operates this website and our mobile app (together, the “Services”). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. By using them, you represent that you meet this requirement.
When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that occurs under your account. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at [email protected].
Our community exists to support and pray for one another. When you use the Services, you agree not to:
We may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts that violate these guidelines, at our discretion and without prior notice.
You retain ownership of the prayer requests and other content you share. By posting content, you grant One Church United a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, and distribute that content solely as needed to operate, provide, and improve the Services. This license ends when you delete your content or your account, except that residual copies may persist in backups for a limited period and content you shared with others may remain visible to them (for example, if it was re-shared or quoted).
We do not claim ownership of your content, and we will never sell it or use it for advertising. We may remove any content at any time if we believe it violates these Terms.
The Services themselves — including the app, website, design, logos, and software — are owned by One Church United and its licensors and are protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Services for their intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the Services except as permitted by law.
The Services are a faith-based prayer community. Nothing in the Services — including prayer requests, responses, or any other content — is medical, mental-health, legal, financial, or other professional advice, and you should not rely on it as such.
The Services are not an emergency or crisis service and are not monitored for emergencies. If you or someone else is in danger or experiencing a crisis, contact your local emergency services (911 in the United States) or the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988 in the United States) immediately.
The Services are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Services will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that content posted by users is accurate or reliable. Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of these exclusions may not apply to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, One Church United and its officers, directors, employees, volunteers, and service providers will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your use of (or inability to use) the Services. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Services will not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US $100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so some of these limitations may not apply to you. [Counsel: confirm cap amount and carve-outs appropriate for the organization.]
You may stop using the Services or delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms or to protect the community. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including Your content, the Disclaimers, and the Limitation of liability — will survive.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of [STATE], without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. [Counsel: confirm governing law and add a dispute-resolution/venue clause if desired.]
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new “Last updated” date, and for material changes we will provide additional notice. Continued use of the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
