Draft for review. This document is a draft and must be reviewed by qualified legal counsel before launch — especially given that the app handles personal prayer content.
Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 1st, 2026
One Church United (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates One Church, including this
website and our mobile app (together, the “Services”). We are a faith-based
nonprofit, and we exist to unite people in prayer — not to monetize their
information. Your prayers are personal, and we treat them that way.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who
we share it with, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information you provide when you create an account, such as your
name and email address.
- Prayer content you choose to share, including prayer requests (which you
may post by name or anonymously), updates, and related messages such as
marking a prayer answered.
- Usage and device information, such as how you interact with the
Services, your device type, operating system, and app version. We collect
this to keep the Services working, diagnose problems, and improve them.
- Push notification tokens, if you enable notifications, so we can deliver
alerts such as when someone prays for you.
We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or advertising identifiers.
The sensitive nature of prayer content
Prayer requests are different from ordinary social posts. What you share may
reveal your religious beliefs, health concerns, family circumstances, or other
deeply personal matters. Because of this:
- We only process prayer content because you choose to post it, and only
to provide the Services.
- You can post any prayer request anonymously, so it is not linked to your
name for other users.
- We never use prayer content for advertising, profiling, or marketing, and we
never sell it.
How we use your information
- To provide and operate the Services.
- To deliver notifications you have enabled, such as when someone prays for
you or a prayer is marked answered.
- To communicate with you about the Services, such as account emails and
important updates.
- To protect the safety and integrity of our community, including enforcing
our community guidelines and preventing abuse.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with
advertisers. We share information only in these limited situations:
- Service providers. We use a small number of providers to run the
Services. Each receives only the information needed to perform its role:
- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers push notifications to your
device.
- Resend — sends transactional email, such as account and notification
emails.
- Hostinger — provides the hosting infrastructure the Services run on.
- EZER Tech Solutions. The Services are built and operated on One Church
United's behalf by EZER Tech Solutions, a technology company that provides
these services to the nonprofit at cost. EZER Tech Solutions accesses
information only as needed to build, host, and maintain the Services, and is
bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations. It does not use
your information for its own purposes.
- Other users, according to your choices — for example, a prayer request
you post is visible to the community, either with your username or anonymously
as you select.
- Legal and safety. We may disclose information if required by law, or if
we believe in good faith it is necessary to protect the safety of a user or
the public, or to protect the integrity of the Services.
Your choices and control
- Anonymity. You can post any prayer request anonymously.
- Edit and delete. You can edit or delete content you have shared.
- Notifications. You can turn push notifications off at any time in the
app or your device settings.
- Access and deletion. You may request a copy of your personal
information, or ask us to delete your account and associated data, by
emailing [email protected]. We will respond as required by
applicable law.
Data security and retention
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your
information, including encryption in transit and access controls that limit
who can view personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely
secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We keep your information while your account is active. If you delete your
account or ask us to delete your data, we will remove it from our active
systems, though residual copies may persist in backups for a limited period
before being purged. [Counsel/ops: confirm specific retention and backup
purge periods before launch.]
Children’s privacy
The Services are not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13,
please do not use the Services or provide any information to us. If we learn
that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will
delete it promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us
information, contact us at [email protected].
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version
here with a new “Last updated” date, and for material changes we will provide
additional notice, such as by email or an in-app notice.
